Rottne H8E is a small and versatile harvester with unique characteristics including exact tracking, swing arms on the wheels, variable transmission and automatic anti-spin. This makes it very easy-to-operate with minimum space requirements, providing the conditions for smooth and fluent thinning and an undamaged stand – as well as high productivity.

Designed for stand-operating thinning

Rottne H8E is an ideal harvester for stand-operating thinning and with various working route system options it can handle strip road distances without manual intermediate zone felling.

Since Rottne H8E works inside the stand, it’s easier for the operator to decide which trees need to be thinned, as it is never more than 6–7 metres to the trees. This means more uniform thinning extraction, which gives both greater volume and added value and probably also a less storm sensitive stand. In other words, Rottne H8E gives good conditions for a timber rich forest

PENDULUM ARMS

The pendulum arm technology evens out the steepness of the terrain in all directions. The four wheel arms have a large swing movement, which means levelling can equal out both lengthways and sideways inclines, as well as give good ground clearance over rocky and uneven terrain. Space requirements are minimised and weight distribution
improved so that processing can be performed at full reach even laterally with maximum stability.

CABIN

The spacious and comfortable cabin with its large windows provides an excellent view of the entire working area. The cabin swivels +/- 90 degrees, levels 15 degrees and automatically follows the crane from side to side, but
can also be controlled manually with joysticks. We have the same cabin for all our harvesters. The interior of the cabin,
distribution box, computer equipment and control functions are, therefore, identical, which makes it easy for the operators to switch between our different machine models. Noise levels in our cabins are quieter than in cars. Our cabins are leaders in ergonomics among the forestry machines.

CONTROL SYSTEM

ROTTNE FORESTER is a quick and easy-to-use bucking system that is used in all our harvesters. A large touchscreen used for both Forester and D5 computers shows information in a well-arranged manner and makes it simple to
program different settings. With Rottne Forester, it is easy to produce automatic digital reports that could be sent directly to your company’s office while you are still finishing your work with an object. It is also possible to print these reports using the cabin printer or copy to a USB flash drive.

THE ROTTNE D5 MACHINE CONTROL SYSTEM, which is based on CAN-bus technology, controls and monitors the engine, transmission and crane. The system comprises a main computer and a number of control units
on the machine. The operator can adjust settings for the crane, transmission and engine, monitor pressure, temperatures and fluid levels and perform troubleshooting via the touch screen. Alarms are indicated by visual and
audible signals and in clear text on the screen.

CRANE

Since H8E works inside the stand, it is easier for the driver to decide which trees need to be thinned as there is never more than 6-7 meters to the trees. If you also opt for Rottne Crane Assistance boom tip control, you get more precise movements and a good harmony in the crane, which means that thinning optimizes. The driver decides which direction the harvesting head should go, and the system and the crane ensure that it is carried out. The boom tip control is easy to set and adapt for different drivers and provides good support to the driver during the entire
shift as all crane functions have end damping to provide a smoother driving experience while reducing wear and tear on the crane.
