Rottne F18F  is a large forwarder with a load capacity of 18 tonnes, providing more efficient transport for long forwarding distances. The portal bogies, with large wide wheels, provide excellent bearing capacity and smooth and gentle travel. The wagon is available in two frame lengths and the load area has a very low centre of gravity. The forwarder can alternatively be equipped with width adjustable load bunks (Wide Load), which increases its flexibility and load area from 4,8 m2 to 5,9 m2

Variable transmission with a whole 260 kN tractive force

Rottne F18F has a well-balanced power train with a diesel engine that can be run at a low working engine speed, as it achieves maximum torque between 1,000 and 1,500 rpm. The transmission is hydrostatic with two hydraulic motors in a 3-speed automatic gearbox that allows gear changing when fully loaded. With a tractive force of 26 tonnes a high speed can be maintained even at maximum load.

Powerful Crane with Increased Lifting Capacity and Extended Reach

The new RK185 crane is designed for fast, precise and efficient timber handling. With a lifting torque of 185 kNm, the RK185 delivers even greater lifting performance for demanding operations.

Available with a reach of up to 10.2 metres, the RK185 combines long reach with high lifting capacity and a powerful slewing system. The newly designed slewing housing provides excellent stability and a gross slewing torque of 50 kNm, ensuring smooth and productive loading cycles.

To maximize performance, the new valve package is mounted directly on the main boom, close to the cylinders. This reduces pressure losses and provides faster response, higher efficiency and improved precision in crane movements. The valve is CAN bus controlled and enables monitoring of both spool positions and working pressures.

The RK185 is also equipped with an Active Damping System, which reduces oscillations and provides smoother, more controlled movements, even at high working speeds.

As an option, the crane can be equipped with crane tilt, offering a tilt angle of 11° forward and 25° backward, providing increased flexibility when working in varying terrain conditions.

BOGIE LIFT

Portal bogies and a slightly tapered wagon frame provide great ground clearance. The bogie lift, which is an optional equipment, makes the forwarder more flexible when working in narrow stands, wet or steep terrain, and when
using the chains.

WIDE LOAD

The front headboard and first bunk are hydraulically adjustable, while the other load bunks, which are screwed to the frame, can be moved into different positions along the frame. The forwarder can alternatively be equipped with width adjustable load bunks (Wide Load) and hydraulic stakes, which increases its flexibility and load area from 4,8 m2 to 5,7 m2.

CABIN

The spacious and comfortable cabin has a modern design where the operator sits in the centre. The large windows and low-set instrument panel provide an uninterrupted view of the immediate and overhead surroundings. The cabin is equipped with a number of storage compartments as well as a food warmer. Noise levels in our cabins are quieter than in cars. Our cabins are leaders in ergonomics among the forestry machines.

COMFORT LINE

The unique cabin suspension system Comfort Line reduces shock, as well as makes crane work and driving in terrain significantly smoother. Since the launch in 2007, Comfort Line has been improved with updated software, more
robust structure and more precise positioning.

FORWARDER COMPUTER

Our forwarder computer has the new Forester F30- and GeoInfo software with GPS-equipment as an option. These simplify planning, reporting and provide accurate follow-up. The forwarder computer consists of a powerful
computer and a large touchscreen. A printer can also be added. Production files from the harvester are received in the forwarder computer. With the help of this, forwarder reporting then shows how much timber has
been driven out to the road – and where it is located – for further transportation by truck. The forwarder computer also generates a follow-up of operations, which shows the operator’s efficiency and machine’s performance to
the machine owner. 

Geoinfo is an option that allows to plan and increase the efficiency of forwarding.
It enables information such as production files and maps with working routes to be automatically transferred from the harvester to the forwarder to facilitate transport planning and ensure that all felled timber is collected.

CRANE

The crane RK 160 gives top-class performance to the machine. The torsionally strong base, powerful lift capacity and a reach of up to 10 metres, ensure quick and efficient loading and unloading.
